I made a reservation on the wrong date. I was confused with how the check-out time was.
I called and immediately felt better due to the customer service I received. They cancelled my reservation and refunded my Hotels.com gift card, which I received because I am currently homeless. I corrected the mistake and was very thankful.
Keep up the good work. JH.

Verified ReviewerResolved: They refused to refund that I canceled for my stay at Margaritaville cottage because my family coming out to celebrating my 50 years old July 14
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They refused not to refund money that I canceled hotel on my birthday week on July 13 , 2024
When you're trying to resolve a problem with a company, the first step should be to discuss your concerns with a representative of the business. If a phone call or email does not resolve the problem, consider writing a complaint. It puts a complaint on record with the company, helps preserve any legal rights when we face situations like this and lets the company know I'm seriously pursuing the complaint. I'm having problems with the cancellations of Hotels.com & Wells Fargo, Visa Hotels rewarded Margaritaville Cottages Orlando by Vystays reservation detail on March 15, 2024.
I had a great record of paying my credit card on time for two years and never had a problem until now. My credit score is ruined by this company, it's really stressful. My Hotel.com rewards Wells Fargo Visa have a balance almost five thousand dollars. Before I booked I saw a Margaritaville Cottage to deposit $53.00 so I got excited when I saw the price. I clicked on it, instead, Hotel.com took the whole amount of my reward balance and on top of that, they took $1,118.34.
You see, Wells Fargo shouldn't have allowed Vystay to take my credit card until we arrived on 7/12. I booked on March 15, 2024. Booking detail number: BKG-18808. Property Address: 2935 Castaway Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34747. Check-in arrival date: 07/12/2024. Departure Date: 07/16/2024 for 6 adult guests. The check-in office is inside Margaritaville Resorts.
My plan was to book through Hotel.com because I have a total balance of close to five hundred dollars. I wanted to use my rewards on Vystars rewards to earn more rewards. I was planning for my 50th birthday and to have fun with my two sons who are from Boston on the date of 7/12. To cut the story short, I booked on 7/12 my sons will be coming from the Boston airport on 7/11 instead of 7/12. So my husband and I wanted to cancel those dates and see what we can update for 7/11 instead.
A week later, I called Hotel.com to cancel or change a date, they said they couldn't help me. They said it was my fault that I clicked the wrong button on the website, saying that I pressed the prepaid button and they couldn't help me.
So, we called Wells Fargo Hotels Rewards Visa to see if they could help us. We thought that by using their credit card and communication it would help us.
We have been dealing with a lot of different customer services and they are not on the same page. They blamed me at the end and said that I must have done something wrong like a crime.
As a Cambodian immigrant, I couldn't understand the way they were speaking to me. I got stressed, so I gave permission for my husband to speak to them. That didn't help. We've been going in circles for the past four months.
We started looking for a dispute resolution process, which involves a small claim. We began putting together my case. We thought that they had already put my refund back into my credit card.
They did not, so the representative of Wells Fargo Hotels Rewards Visa was rude. She was talking about her company's policies, saying they gave me a date to gather all my documents together.
There was no such thing as an expiry date, but I still have an email back from May 15, 2024, at around 9:00 am. The email stated that my refund would be returned to my credit card. I have proof of the email, but then she said it was too late and they won't refund the money back into my account.
So, we got upset, we wanted to talk to the head manager. He got on the phone with us, and I said the same things. They were rude. But it's okay for them to keep our money that we work hard for. It seems to us that no one can help us or this might result in legal actions to stop this company from taking advantage of us.
A class action led by an attorney should show more interest in this type of activity. We are wondering about illegal communication after many years of complaints from the public. Who are they? Are they a group of scammers above the law?
Our complaints are real. Hoping there is someone who can answer this question within the FTC forum. Also, we have the rights to stand up against unreliable customer services in the communication industry should be heavily regulated. I would like to see this happen in the near future.
The detail we gave will go into a database that law enforcement uses for investigations. If this dispute is not settled for that kind of amount of over a thousand dollars, yes this will go to the hand of our attorney.

The room I paid for was supposed to have a private pool. However, there wasn't a pool, just a green, non-working hot tub.

Verified ReviewerI was quoted one price when I booked, and that’s why I booked months before my trip. Decent price, close to where I needed to be, etc.
I received my itinerary, with correct prices quoted. When I checked out of the hotel, I asked for a receipt, and this matched what I expected to pay.
I also added trip insurance, which was about $33. This was all fine. However, they charged my credit card almost $80 more, saying the hotel taxes had changed in the meantime. I still have photos of my itinerary, hotel receipts including taxes, and the price of my travel insurance.
By the way, customer service stinks. It should be called customer non-service at Hotels.com.
I would have booked directly with this hotel, but I could never get through to them after multiple attempts.

Verified ReviewerNot like to receive an email with subject line: Pissed Customer as a follow up.
I felt satisfied with my call and felt as though a plan of action was put in place to resolve the issue. Then, an email came with the subject line: 'Pissed Customer.' It ruined my entire experience.
Fix your AI system before you embarrass or insult the next person. I would have rated my experience at a 4 until that email came, stating 'Pissed Customer.
Preferred solution: Matching my expense due to a company website issue and inconvenience for me to spend more money because system has an issue. Sending out an email labeling me as a Pissed Customer... what an insult. I was NOT upset until that came across me

Verified ReviewerHorrible customer service unsafe hotel fraudulent advertising
If I could give negative stars I would We used our hotels.com giftcard to book a room for our daughter and her children as they needed an emergent place to stay. The app showed Woodspring Suites Yorktown Newport News as a 7.5 stars with everything you need for your stay.
LIES not only was the room absolutely disgusting the beds looked and felt like they were from a 2nd hand shop at best!! the front desk advised them not to be in the hall or out of their room after dark, there was no cookware or tableware as advertised, there are bars on the doors as added security because of how UNSAFE IT IS. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY BARELY SPEAK ENGLISH AND DO NOTHING.
I WANTED A FULL REFUND AS I HAD MY DAUGHTER LEAVE AND THEY TELL ME ITS UP TO THE HOTEL IF THEY want to give a refund thats bull. I want to speak with corporate about this immediately

Verified ReviewerMiss leading pictures and price was over inflated!
I booked a hotel that looked good in the pictures they posted. I paid $150.00, and when I got there, I was shocked!
There were no other places to stay; we were attending a concert. I contacted them as soon as I stepped into the door! I thought of a refund or a discount, but the fake customer service chat said they were going to help. I got an email saying, 'Oh, sorry' from both parties!
The hotel swimming pool looked like a swamp; trash was all over the place! There were sewer smells, and the restaurant next to it was the same way! Homeless people were around, drug deals were going on, and it was the worst place I have ever slept in! They are liars!
The pictures were nowhere near the same or 20 years old! I paid $150 and started looking elsewhere, then I found it for $60.
I will never use them again! I was ripped off!

Verified ReviewerIssue with Hotels.com Gift Card Customer Service
I'm extremely frustrated with Hotels.com's gift card service. After purchasing multiple gift cards, I found out that only one can be used per booking.
To combine multiple gift cards, you're required to email giftcards@***.com, and there is no alternative method available - no phone number or online solution. I sent an email requesting to merge my cards over 3 days ago and still haven't received a response. Without the ability to combine gift cards, I can't complete my hotel reservation.
The lack of response and the fact that there's no phone support for this issue makes the process incredibly inconvenient and unreliable. Hotels.com needs to improve its customer service for gift card users and provide more responsive and accessible support options.
User's recommendation: Avoid purchasing Hotels.com gift cards altogether. It’s not worth the headache for you or someone you’re gifting to. If you need to combine multiple cards, you’ll have to go through a frustrating email-only process with slow response times and no phone support to escalate the issue. Save yourself the trouble and use alternative payment options.

Are you a pathological liar or do you simply fail to comprehend numerals ? What kind of card approves a charge like that ?
